Parochial Vicar

Rev. Fredy William Méndez López, was born on September 13, 1984 in San Pedro Soloma Huehuetenango, Guatemala; he comes from a family of 8 members and he is number 6 in the family.   His parents are Juan Gabriel Méndez González and Catalina Luvia López Fernandez. His studies were carried out in Guatemala, his primary education at the San Pedro Parish School from 1990 to 1997. He studied one year at the Bernardo Alvarado Tello National Mixed Institute in San Pedro Soloma in 1998; and in 1999 he entered the Minor Seminary of Quetzaltenango, under the leadership of Benedictine priests,  until 2002, graduating with a Bachelor of Science and Letters.

In 2003 he entered the National Major Seminary of La Asunción, and studied philosophy at the Rafael Landivar University. He received his Theology studies at the National Seminary. In 2022 he obtained a degree in Theology at the Rafael Landivar University.

He was ordained Deacon on December 19, 2011, by imposition at the hands of Monsignor Rodolfo Francisco in the city of Huehuetenango; and he was ordained as priest in 2013, by the laying on of hands of Monsignor Alvaro Cardinal Ramazzini Imeri.

He has served as Deacon, Vicar and Parish Priest in the Diocese of Huehuetenango, from 2011 to 2022. He arrived in the United States on May 20, 2022 and is currently the Parochial Vicar at Sacred Heart Church in Lake Worth Beach.
