Recognizing that parents are the first and best educators of their children in matters of faith, the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Faith Formation Program works in partnership with families to form the faith of our young parishioners. Our Faith Formation programs are meant to strengthen and build upon the faith that occurs within families.
Studies show that parents are the MOST IMPORTANT element in a child’s faith-life. This is why the Church asks parents, at their child’s Baptism, to accept the responsibility of forming their child in the practice of the faith.
Preparation for First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion requires TWO consecutive years of classes. Preparation begins in 1st grade and concludes in May of 2nd grade after two academic years of preparation. These sacraments mark two very important steps in a child’s faith journey. Preparation for children already in 2nd grade and above, we provide a special Sacramental Preparation Process. For more information, contact the parish office at 561-582-4736.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation gives us the opportunity to experience the great love and mercy of God by assuring us of the forgiveness of Jesus.
The Sacrament of First Holy Communion, we experience union with Jesus Himself. He is present, body, blood, soul, and divinity under the appearance of bread and wine.
This is a joyous occasion and we look forward to working with you to make this a memorable event.
First Reconciliation & First Holy Communion:
Parents must be registered parishioners of Sacred Heart Church. A registered parishioner is one who attends mass on a regular basis, receives and uses offertory envelopes. If you are not a member of this parish, we do require a letter of permission from your parish in order for the child to receive the sacrament at Sacred Heart Church.
Parents must present a copy of the child’s birth certificate and baptism certificate.
