Ministry to the Sick/Homebound & Nursing Homes

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion take communion to the Sick/Homebound those who cannot attend Mass because of illness, injury, or age issues. These ministers keep parishioners connected to and bring them the comfort and strength of the Eucharist during difficult times in their lives. We minister to people in their homes, in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and retirement communities within our parish. Anyone who has received training as a Eucharistic Minister can receive additional training for this ministry Parishioners who would like to have a Minister bring them communion when they cannot attend Mass either for a short period of time or long term, may contact the parish office at 561-582-4736. A background check, copy of driver’s license, copy of automobile insurance and completion of online “Vulnerable Adult Training” is required in order to become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. Respect Life

The mission of our Respect Life Ministry is to acknowledge and respect life from the moment of conception until natural death. We pray for the intentions of the parish, our community, our nation, and the world, as they relate to the Sanctity of Life issues. We aim to educate and give information to our parishioners about the humanity of an unborn child, the dignity of the aged and handicapped, a respect for the family unit, and the value of abstinence, chastity, and natural family planning. We support our local crisis pregnancy center, Birth line/Lifeline Pregnancy Care Centers of Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Palm Beach.  We strive to encourage the community to become involved with issues such as abortion, euthanasia, embryonic destructive research and human cloning, and capital punishment by stressing the teaching of our Catholic faith.  With the permission and encouragement of the pastor, we sponsor activities at the parish level, work with other ministries within the parish, and invite parishioners to participate in activities both within and outside the parish to further an awareness of the Sanctity of Life issues. We attempt to inform the parish community of legislation that would threaten or enhance the Sanctity of Life and encourage involvement in the legislative process through exercising the right to vote and contacting our legislators. Any parishioner, adult or teen, who is interested in learning more or is interested in taking an active role in the Respect Life Ministry please contact the parish office at 561-582-4736.

St. Vincent de Paul Society

St. Vincent de Paul Society, a Catholic lay organization, leads women and men together to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to those who are needy and suffering. When people of need call out, Vincentians meet with them, determine their needs, and do what we can to assist. No work of charity is foreign to the Society. The real importance lies with offering hope and praying with those we visit. We do not meet all their financial needs and we do not intend to. We do provide love and understanding that will help them grow closer to Jesus and His love. For more information about St. Vincent De Paul Ministry, please call 561-697-9699.
